Principal Digital ASIC Design Engineer - PCI Express
Pulse~LINK is looking for an experienced digital ASIC design engineer for our Host Interface / MAC ASIC development team. Though primarily a front-end design engineer, your responsibilities will include active participation in all phases of digital ASIC design and verification from chip architecture and specification through IP selection, high-level design, Verilog coding, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, tapeout, and chip test. As an initial task, you will be responsible for integrating PCI Express into our next generation SOC. Therefore, previous experience with PCI Express is highly desired.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BSEE and 7+ years in digital ASIC design and verification
- Outstanding documentation and communication skills are a must
- Expertise in the following aspects of ASIC development:
- Specification and design of high-speed, data flow / packet switching type devices such as 802.11, ATM, or gigabit Ethernet controllers
- Specification and design of high-speed, data flow / packet switching type devices such as 802.11, ATM, gigabit Ethernet controllers, or complex DMA engines
- Detailed design of standard interfaces and protocols such as PCI Express, PCI, DDR, AMBA Bus, 1394, or USB
- IP selection and integration
- SOC design and chip-level architecture
- Design with multiple clocks and PLLs
- Timing analysis
- Verilog RTL coding with adherence to design rules and coding style
- Experience with:
- ASIC synthesis, formal verification, DFT, and familiarity with back-end design concepts.
- Design, synthesis, and test of FPGA prototypes.
- Writing chip test plans, and performing lab debug.
