Pulse~LINK JOINS NEWLY FORMED HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO VIDEO NETWORK ALLIANCE

Carlsbad, CA - December 14, 2005 - Pulse~LINK, Inc., developer of CWave® Ultra Wideband (UWB) communications, is among the first contributing members to join the High Definition Audio Video Network Alliance (HANA), a cross-industry collaboration of leading companies from the four industries most impacted by the HD revolution (content providers, consumer electronics, service providers and IT). The new Alliance's goal is to create standards-based solutions to facilitate commercial deployment of products and services that will enhance the consumer HD entertainment experience.

With a focus on the consumer, these four industries are seeking to solve the connection issues and simplify the control of A/V products without dramatically altering the user interface. Charter Communications, JVC, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, Inc., NBC Universal, Samsung and Sun Microsystems announced the formation of the Alliance today.

Pulse~LINK is bringing its CWave® UWB technology to HANA to enable the necessary bandwidth for multiple feeds of high definition programming, gaming and data across existing in-home coax cable. The same CWave® UWB chipset can also wirelessly connect peripheral devices such as TVs, DVRs, DVD players, PCs, set-top boxes, and handheld entertainment devices with its 1394 S-400 wireless technology. The ability to carry 1394 or Firewire™ wirelessly or over coax provides equipment manufacturers, cable operators, and consumers a wide range of flexibility while accurately moving content.

"We are pleased to have Pulse~LINK join HANA as a contributing member," said Dr. Heemin Kwon, president of HANA. "Pulse~LINK will work with other HANA members to extend the HANA vision to include 1394 wireless and coax connectivity."

"The data rate required for 1394 S-400 cable is 400 Mbps and to our knowledge we are the only company that delivers this throughput at the application layer in a manner that coexists with legacy coax applications," said Bruce Watkins, Pulse~LINK President/COO. "CWave® technology brings the first demonstrated throughput and ability to move isochronous streams, like video and audio content, both wirelessly and across existing coax within a home."

HANA's objectives are to create industry design guidelines utilizing existing technology and specifications that will enable consumers to view, pause and record 5+ HD channels simultaneously anywhere in the home without compromising quality of service- all with just one set-top box. High definition televisions, digital recorders and other HANA enabled products will be connected using a single AV 1394 cable, and all devices and access to content will be controlled from a single remote control per room. HANA will also enable consumers to share personal content between PC and AV devices while keeping protected content secure from piracy.

IEEE 1394/Firewire™ was developed specifically for the purpose of real-time distribution of multimedia content with guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS) so there is no need to buffer the data before playing it back. This reduces the cost and complexity for consumers while improving the performance and reliability of entertainment devices. Additionally, 1394 automatically synchronizes playback of audio and video on all of the devices on the network, which is crucial for multi-room audio distribution and for "lip-syncing" audio with video.

Pulse~LINK is the first company to demonstrate 1394 S-400 over existing in-home coax and continues to lead the industry in high data rate UWB communications with its CWave® wireless and wired technology.
