The CWave® PL3100 Chipset is the first product to provide true whole-home coverage with guaranteed QoS. Other wired technologies fail to provide connectivity to devices that are not conveniently located near a wired connection. Other wireless solutions fall short on its ability to provide high data rates with guaranteed QoS across multiple rooms in a home.

Using the same CWave® PL3100 Chipset, hybrid (both coax and wireless simultaneously) connectivity can be achieved. This means that multimedia devices connected to the CWave® coax network can communicate with multimedia devices on the CWave® wireless network, creating a Whole-Home Multimedia Network. With the additional ability of selecting HD content anywhere in the home with "Trick Play" capabilities (pause, fast-forward, fast-rewind), Whole-Home Interactive HD™ is achieved with the CWave® PL3100 Chipset.

Having the hybrid ability for whole-home coverage from the same chipset, the guaranteed QoS can be maintained when multiple HD video streams move between a coax and wireless medium. Now consumers can place their multimedia devices where they want them throughout the home. The interface may vary, but the performance and chipset remains the same.
